We’re committed to building a brighter future for West Virginia women and kids.
We believe in a future where West Virginia women and children can have meaningful support and access to quality education, healthcare, and child and family care and can feel safe in their communities, workplaces, and homes.
Who We Are
The WVWA-EF is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization striving for common-sense solutions to challenges impacting West Virginia women and children.
The WVWA-EF began as a group of friends, business professionals, educators, healthcare providers, and mothers who wanted structural support to lift up women and children in our state.
Our Mission
Through collaborative action, we aim to remove barriers to prosperity, champion evidence-based policies and investments that will lift up West Virginia's women and children and educate stakeholders to build a statewide network committed to creating lasting change, so our children may choose to stay here and thrive for generations to come.
Our Approach
Lift up West Virginia women and families using the following methods:
Research
Identify pragmatic, evidence-based policies and solutions that help women and families thrive.
Education
Share information and analysis with the public to raise awareness and inspire meaningful change in these areas of opportunity to improve outcomes for West Virginia women and children.
Collaboration
Work collaboratively and in coalition with other subject matter experts and organizations to learn more about these areas of opportunity and to find common sense solutions to address other issues that West Virginia women, children, and families may identify as barriers to their success.
Communication
Build relationships and spheres of influence throughout the state to communicate these areas of opportunity and educate policy makers and extra-governmental stakeholders so we can work together toward pragmatic solutions and long-lasting, impactful solutions.
